Saints walk is a beautiful path that winds along the coastline from St Mikes to Uvongo and onto Margate. One can often spot whales and dolphins while strolling through the wonderful scenery.

Whales are seen off our coast from June till November and spectacular whale watching cruises depart from Shelly Beach small craft harbour.

Sardine fever sets in during June/July. This unique natural phenomenon occurs as vast shoals of sardines make their way up the coast, followed by dolphins, sea-birds, sharks and game fish. This ‘Greatest Shoal on Earth’ is a marine spectacle not to be missed. Most years the sardines are netted off St Mikes beach where holiday makers can join in the fun and excitement of grabbing a few, in nets, buckets, packets or anything they can lay their hands on.

Also known as the Golf Coast, there are 9 top golf courses within under an hour's drive of Emerald Cove.

A great way to experience natures wonders are the nine well developed nature reserves, all with beautiful hiking trails. The most famous being Oribi Gorge, with its spectacular deep gorge and rock formations. Well worth a visit. The more adventurous can try abseiling, white water rafting and the world’s highest swing.

The South Coast is a haven for many talented artists and all along the road you will see signs leading off to craft shops, artist’s studios, art galleries, leather works, wood workers, curio sellers, farm stalls and nurseries.
